Overheard at Our House
During family devotions this evening an unexpected answer came from the younger Sprout after the introduction to the week's catechism question.
"What are the decrees of God?"
"Oh, oh, I know one!"
"Yes, Jo?"
"Do not text while driving."

While in the Kitchen...
...Jo asks Em: "What is the opposite of white?"
Em: "Black. Were you learning about opposites in school today?"
Jo: "Yeah."
Me: "What is the opposite of Jo?"
Jo, without hesitation: "Fi."

Family Quote of the Day
FK, upon seeing the large stacks of books on the dining table: "Schoolwork already? School doesn't start for another two weeks!"
Me, with eyebrows raised: "Uh, huh..."
FK, with knowing grin: "Oh, right, you're a teacher."

Christmas is Early This Year
Setting: just after 4 PM as the family is exiting the school. Picture lots of snowflakes falling. Picture a little sprout running around, trying to catch snowflakes on his tongue, all the while shouting: "It's Christmas, it's Christmas!"
This is the same little sprout who for the past three weeks has been asking to put up the Christmas tree.

FK: "Papa, how do mustaches grow? Do they grow out of your nose?"
(No, I do not have a mustache. This is one of many questions from our very curious Sprout.)

Family Quote of the Week
While FK and I were tossing around a frisbee this afternoon, FK remarked:
"I am right-handed because I throw a frisbee well with my right hand. I am left-eyed because I wink well with my left eye."
